About Me
Welcome—I’m glad you’re here.
Getting to Know O’Malley Geropsychology
I’m Kelly O’Malley, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, proudly Board Certified in Geropsychology. Simply put, Geropsychology is the heart of what I do: it’s the specialized focus on the mental health and emotional well-being of older adults. It’s about compassionately addressing those complex, unique life chapters that come with aging—things like navigating cognitive decline, managing chronic illness, processing grief, and finding purpose in new life roles.
My personal commitment to this field is rooted in my own family experience, where I cared for my aging parents and navigated the healthcare system. Those interactions, along with my volunteer work with organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association, solidified my purpose: to stand with and support families who are facing the complexities of dementia and aging.
Over my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with older adults and their care partners—both family and professional—across a wide spectrum of care settings: primary care, outpatient clinics, palliative care, hospice, sub-acute rehabilitation, and long-term care. This breadth of experience means I bring extensive, practical expertise to the table, particularly in behavioral interventions for dementia distress, providing family caregiver psychotherapy, and offering comprehensive staff training. My primary goal is always to ensure that our care is supportive, effective, and never unintentionally re-traumatizing.
I am genuinely committed to helping individuals, their loved ones, and the facilities that serve them to embrace a path of healthy aging. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and always grounded in the best evidence-based practices. Whether you or a loved one is facing a major life change, wrestling with the challenges of caregiving, or simply seeking tools to live with greater balance and purpose, I offer a safe, supportive, and expert space to explore those challenges and define your goals.
I’m eager to share this expertise with our local community. Please feel free to reach out to me today!
